Passed away early Saturday morning, August 18, 1990 at Arboridge Care Center. Mrs. Burrows was born in Kalamazoo, August 27, 1910, the daughter of John and Clara (Hulst) Baker. On January 7, 1927 she married Frank Burrows who preceded her in death on April 9, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her father John Baker, mother Clara Goodenough, sister Ester Beck and brother Robert Goodenough. Surviving are five children and their spouses, Ronald and Marcia Burrows of Battle Creek, Bernice and Doy Bush, Interlocken, FL, Marlene and Winton Payne of Big Rapids, Norma Jean Jones, Milwaukee, WI, and Daniel and Lisa Burrows, Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hiram Baker and John and wife Helen Baker, all of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received at the funeral home beginning this evening where services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock with Rev. Wilson Dye officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 this evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday.

Jim passed away on Friday May 1, 2015 at his home. He was born on May 18, 1937 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late John Jr. and Helen (Ackerman) Baker. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by The Upjohn Co. for over 20 years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling. Preceding him in death were his wife, Judith (Miles) Baker and brother, Larry Baker. Surviving are two children, Joseph (Dee) Baker of Kalamazoo and Jodeen (Steve) Washington of Cedar Springs, five grandchildren, Josephine, Brianna, Mackenzie, Alyssa, and Lindsey; brother, John III (Margaret) Baker; sister, Linda Baker; and former spouse, Jackie Baker. Friends may visit with Jim's family on Friday, May 8, from 5-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
