John Modrack

M, b. about 1852, d. 13 February 1916

Family: Kathleen Elliott (b. 16 December 1867, d. 11 December 1952)

Biography

  • Birth: about 1852, GermanyO.1
  • Immigration: 1864, to AmericaO.1
  • Marriage: to Kathleen Elliott, 5 May 1900, Elkhart County, IndianaO+, age ~48, by Elder E. W. Clifford.
According to a newspaper article 2 years later, the bride's relatives objected to her marriage to Dr. Modrack. The article also states that they had taken out their marriage license in Madison County, Indiana, where Kathleen lived, but went to Elkhart for the ceremony because of these family objections. This seems somewhat odd, as what information is known about her family at that time would only suggest that they lived in Elkhart County, and there has been no information uncovered to suggest any relatives living in Madison County.2
