Leander Lorio

Family 3: Mary L. Cavanaugh (b. about 1848, d. 17 December 1894)

Biography

  • Parentage:1
  • Birth: about 1818, CanadaO.2,1
  • Census: 1 October 1850, Onondaga, Onondaga County, New YorkO, federal census of 1 June 1850, head of household, page 293, dwelling 1020, family 1056.
It is somewhat uncertain if this is his 1850 census enumeration, but an 1885 newspaper article indicated that he moved to New York first from Montreal, and later to Kalamazoo, Michigan. This same article also indicated that he had 2 sons who served in the army during the Civil War. There is at least 1 candidate in this household who potentially might have served, and arguably a second candidate, although both of them would have been quite young during their service - Leander would have been 20 years old in 1865 at the end of the war, and his younger brother, Napolian, would have been only 18 years old at that time.

Leander Lorio, age 30, male, stone cutter, born Canada
Olive Lorio, age 24, female, born Canada
Caroline Lorio, age 7, female, born Canada, attended school
Leander Lorio, age 5, male, born Canada
Napolian Lorio, age 3, male, born Canada
