    Switchman Killed by Burlington Engine

    Frank Delor Falls from Runningboard and His Head Crushed to Pulp

    Missing his footing on the runningboard of a switch engine on the Burlington yards at Sixth and Douglas streets Friday morning at 6:15 o'clock. Frank Delor, a switchman, was instantly killed. Wheels of the engine passed over Delor's head, crushing it almost to a pulp. The body was not mutilated. It was at once taken in charge by [?] P. C. Healey and an inquest will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock.

    The engine was switching on a Hoagland Lumber company spur. Foreman McLida was in charge of the crew and a switchman name Ingram was working with Delor.

    At 1126 North Twentieth street, where the Delor family resides, Mrs. Delor was preparing for the homecoming of her husband and anticipating a happy Christmas for themselves and their two little children when she was informed of his death.

    Mr. Delor was 28 years of age. He had the spent the greater part of his life in Omaha, but entered the employ of the Burlington only a few months ago.4
