The 80 acre plot, located on the north half of the southwest quarter of section 15, was sold for $200, and the transaction was witnessed by S. L. Crane and L. O. Crane. S. L. Crane may be Stephen L. Crane, brother of the grantor and son of the grantee.9
  • Land Sale: 14 November 1845, Brady Township, Kalamazoo County, MichiganO, "T. Collins and Mary Ann Crane to Albert Heath," 40 acres, for $127.33. The 40 acre parcel consisted of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of section 15. Benjamin Tuttle and S. F. Heath signed as witnesses to the transaction.10

In 1857, he served as School Inspector and Justice of the Peace. Then in 1859, he served as Township Supervisor and as one of two School Inspectors. Finally in 1860, he served a second term as Township Supervisor, and another term as School Inspector.14

Her death certificate further notes that she took laudanum -- that is, morphine -- habitually. According to her death certificate she had also been employed as a housekeeper prior to her death.1
