• Biography: about 1842. A few interesting things about Caroline's second husband, Professor Charles Brackett Haddock. His mother was Abigail Webster, the sister of the famous American, Daniel Webster. After graduating from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, he went on to teach there for the next 32 years. It was during this time that he apparently married Caroline. In 1851, he was appointed as the Charge d'Affairs to the nation of Portugal, and the couple resided in Lisbon, Portugal for the next 4 years. After this stint, the couple returned to New Hampshire, where they resided at a "charming" home on the Connecticut River, and Professor Haddock occupied himself with "agriculture and literature" until his death circa 1860.²
