  • Census: 16 June 1900, 32 Scammell St., Manhattan, New York, New YorkO, federal census of 1 June 1900, head of household. ||According to the census, the family rented their home. It also noted that Anthony was born in Russia, as were his parents. It also noted that he was an alien and had immigrated to the United States in 1894. Anthony worked as a coat presser, and had not been out of work during the previous year. He could read and write, but could not speak English.5
  • Census: 28 April 1910, 784 Hubbard Ave., Detroit, Wayne County, MichiganO, federal census of 15 April 1910, head of household.6
  • Family Event - baptism of child: 4 December 1910, St. Casimir Church, Detroit, Wayne County, MichiganO, baptism of Elizabeth Linsky.7

  • Census: 22 April 1930, R.F.D. 1, Bloomfield, Hartford County, ConnecticutO, federal census of 1 April 1930, head of household, His wife, Marion, lived with him, as did his children, Anthony, Marion, and Elizabeth. Tony, as he was referred to in the census, owned his farm, which was valued at $18,000. The census indicated he was born in Lithuania between 1874 and 1875 to Lithuanian parents, and got married at age 22. It further indicated that he immigrated to the United States in 1895 and had been naturalized. He could read and write, as well as speak English. The family lived on a general farm and owned a radio. A boarder, John W. Degnan, age 51, lived at the homestead as well. He was said to be employed as a farm laborer - we might presume on the family's farm - and was born in Connecticut. It was furthermore reported that Mr. Degnan's father was born in England, and mother in the Irish Free State. It finally notes that Mr. Degnan was an alien who immigrated in 1869, although this would contradict the information provided that he was born in Connecticut.9
  • Census: 7 April 1940, Adams Road, Bloomfield, Hartford County, ConnecticutO, federal census of 1 April 1940, head of household. His son-in-law, Stanley Weaver, and 1 year old granddaughter also lived there at the time.10
